Career and educational development
Join us at our biennial Convention, where we host a multi-day event of intensive communications and media workshops. You’ll also meet other ILCA members and bolster your contacts to support future projects and campaigns.
Throughout the year, we also host trainings on new and emerging communications technologies, media relations, social media, video production and hold messaging workshops.
Our First Friday series kicked off in 2022, every first Friday of the month we host a 30-minute workshop on a specific skill you’ve asked to cover, yes YOU! We hold two sessions each First Friday, which cover the same material in two groups held at (12:30PM ET / 9:00aM PT) and (3:30PM ET / 12:30PM PT). Submit your ideas by emailing us today.
annual ILCA awards contest
ILCA members in good standing have the opportunity to enter our annual Labor Media Awards contest. Each year we recognize national and local campaigns that are making an impact in the movement. Our judges review your work. We take a look at union publications and productions in a variety of categories and classes to news stories covering the labor movement, social media and everything in between.
Peer-to-peer mentoring
Looking for a sounding board for your communications strategy or have an idea to pitch reach out to us today and we’ll align you with a peer mentor from ILCA who can help you ensure your message hits the right points.
