2025 ILCA Convention
Our 2025 convention is coming up soon, and registration has already opened below! We’ll be in New Orleans, Louisiana November 18 - November 20, 2025. This convention is a full three-day event including community service and networking receptions, the ILCA awards, as well as a robust schedule of panels and workshops around a theme befitting the times to be announced soon.
Tuesday, November 18, 2025: Advanced Communicators Day & Welcome Reception
Last convention’s Advanced Communicators day focused on Strike Preparedness and Contract Campaign communications tools. It was an informative bootcamp in real life case studies on the recent strikes and group work on strategic planning, member engagement, crisis communications, media relations and more. We will announce this convention’s topic(s) soon…plan for a full day of high-level strategic planning for the issues unions and labor communicators are facing today.
Wednesday, November 19, 2025: Tools & Tech
On Wednesday, we’ll focus on technology as it relates to our communications work. We’ll cover the latest tools to help reach members and future members effectively. With workshops on various social media platforms, video production, paid media, earned media, design, and more.
During lunch, we’ll host a discussion on the future world of communications and how ILCA can help support communicators. We’ll also discuss the current state of the organization and call for nominations from the floor for the ILCA Officer and Executive Council Positions so that ballots can be made for Friday’s election.
In the late afternoon, we’ll be looking to give back to the community we’re in with a service opportunity followed by a social event in the City of New Orleans.
Thursday, November 20, 2025: Building Strength in Uncertain Times, Fighting Back and Standing Up
On Thursday, we’ll focus on communications and media relations in uncertain times. Communicators are working at a more unplanned pace than ever before, we’ll take time to cover our world of work, challenges and triumphs and more. Workshops will include, diversity and inclusion communications, right to work communications, legislative and electoral political communications, coalition communications, and more.
ILCA Awards Reception, celebrating our 2024 winners. We’ll also conduct Officer, and VP Elections. Secret ballots can be picked up in the morning at breakfast and handed in during lunch. Ballots will be counted during the afternoon and results will be shared at the conclusion of the awards reception in the evening. Please note: the constitution provides only one vote per member organization, please designate one member of your delegation to pick up your ballot, the entire delegation is responsible for a method of selection internally to your delegation.

Should you wish to come in early or extend your stay the group rate is available on a limited basis for shoulder dates.

We will have some exciting workshop & panel announcements as well as a full schedule coming soon. Delegates should plan to travel in on November 19 if they are attending Advanced Communicators Day, and out on November 21 as our Awards Reception will be an evening event on the 20th.
