REBECCA BAND, ILCA VICE PRESIDENT

Rebecca Band brings more than a decade of labor communications experience to her current position as IBEW Local 1245 communications director. As a communications department of one, she serves as digital media director, external communications/public relations strategist and liaison, internal communications guru, and managing editor of the local’s award-winning newspaper. She previously worked at the California Labor Federation AFL-CIO, where she helped develop and launch their digital media program. She has a bachelors in journalism from the George Washington University and did some post-graduate study in political communication at Johns Hopkins University. She lives in Richmond, Calif., with her spouse and daughter.
